New Homeowner Dreamed of Property for 19 years!

1002 W Briarfield Drive, a family home built on Sail Bay in 1957 and kept in the family all these years, was recently sold to a neighbor who had been dreaming of the property.

The neighbor and homeowner had become friends and for 19 years visited for drinks in the yard and sent holiday cards. When it came time for Cathy, the daughter who was in charge of the trust, to make a decision on the home she placed her confidence in the McInerney Team, and the stack of holiday cards in our hands.

Cathy’s mother—the original homeowner—was known to talk with all kinds of people on the boardwalk, offering advice while she tended her beautiful roses. The property is about 5 houses from the Catamaran Hotel, and the area attracts locals and international visitors alike. We even remember seeing the roses growing along the boardwalk when we spent time at the beach!

Here’s what the new owner has to say:

"JIM AND RACHEL HELPED ME GET THE DREAM HOUSE I HAD BEEN CHASING FOR 19 YEARS, AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! NOT ONLY DID I FINALLY REALIZE MY DREAM, BUT IT WAS ONE OF THE EASIEST TRANSACTIONS I HAVE EVER DONE. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH THEM."

To capture the memory of the home for Cathy, we commissioned local artist, Leah Higgins, to paint the property.

Congrats to the new owner, pining for all these years, and many fond memories to Cathy on the sale of her family home! For more information on our recently sold listings. For more pocket listings before they sell, check out our pocket listing page!
